To me cake indicates some sort of celebration. I don’t think there is anything better than cake! There is nothing better than the fluffy spongy texture of a delicious moist cake, topped with the most delectable creamy icing. Commercial grocery stores have lost the homemade feel and taste of cakes. They are usually dry and too sweet.
I grew up helping my late Amish raised Grandma bake cakes for extra money in her home. I was her little helper, licking beaters and grabbing ingredients from the fridge or cupboards. I remember watching the magic and the conception of her luscious “Red Velvet Cake”. She taught my mom and I all the secrets she used in her recipes.
